INFINITI QX60 Test Drive
The 2023 INFINITI QX60 is one of the newer vehicles on the market that does not get enough attention. The QX60’s 3.5L V6 direct-injection engine offers 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft torque, which pairs perfectly with the 9-speed automatic transmission that makes it faster than a Dodge Durango with a HEMI engine. The INFINITI QX60 features a Drive Mode Selector, which allows the driver to choose between Sport, Standard, Eco, and Snow. The Drive Mode Selector even allows for a Personal mode, giving the driver the luxury of personalizing their driving mode. While the INFINITI QX60 offers an exhilarating drive, the vehicle also provides one of the safest drives. The QX60 comes with ProPILOT Assist with Navi-Link, which is a feature that controls the speed of the vehicle and reacts to vehicles and objects around you. The ProPILOT Assist can essentially act like an autopilot feature, however, it still requires full attention while operating. Along with ProPILOT Assist, there are also features like Rear Automatic Braking, Forward Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection, Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and High Beam Assist. With most SUVs such as the Genesis GV having Forward Collision Warning systems, the QX60 is more advanced as it uses detection technology to detect a collision from two vehicles ahead. Another feature that sets the INFINITI QX60 apart from vehicles like the Genesis GV is the Smart Rear View Mirror, which displays a camera feed on the mirror instead of a reflection. The camera feed offers a clearer perspective on what is behind you on the road, as well as helps with glare from the sun or headlights. Going along with the Smart Rear View Mirror is the Head-Up Display which shows important real-time information, such as current speed or directions, without pulling your attention away from the road ahead.
Moving to the interior of the INFINITI QX60, there are plenty of features that provide a luxurious feel. The 12.3” touchscreen at the center of the dashboard displays either wireless accessibility Apple CarPlay or wired connection Android Auto. The center console features a wireless charging pad for compatible phones, but if wireless technology isn’t your thing then the QX60 still has plenty to offer. INFINITI placed a combination of USB-A and USB-C charging ports for a total of seven across all three rows, providing a spot to charge any passenger’s device. Another technological feature is the control knob, which controls the screen if a touchscreen is not preferred. All INFINITI QX60s come with a panoramic sunroof, offering plenty of light for the entire cabin. INFINITI offers four unique trim packages for the QX60, and those being the PURE, LUXE, SENSORY, and AUTOGRAPH trim packages. All four of those offer differing interior looks. However, all packages offer leather seating with the trim material depending on the trim you select. Regardless of the trim, the QX60 provides a very luxurious and stylish feel whenever you step inside. Starting with some of the most comfortable seating in its category, the zero gravity technology implemented by INFINITI gives the driver ultimate relief and even distribution of hip weight for maximum comfort. Additionally, the front seats in the cabin come with a sense of comfort with the option of both heated and cooled seats and the back seats come with heated seats. My personal favorite feature of the interior was the massaging front seats, which come with the sensory trim package. The dashboard controls were carefully placed to ensure that each function is in a convenient spot for the driver. Most of the climate controls are a touch function, so it minimalizes the distraction of changing the temperature within the cabin. Another feature of the interior is the retractable third row of seats, which have a one-touch button in the trunk. With two to three rows of seating, INFINITI implemented theater seating in the QX60, which means that each row is slightly raised the further back you go.
Overall, the INFINITI QX60 is a versatile and unique vehicle that offers many features. The innovative interior of the vehicle is convenient for any driver. While the INFINITI QX60 is a great car for someone looking for excitement in an SUV, it is also one of the safest SUVs on the market. The safety features in the QX60 make it a perfect car for a family looking for an SUV. My experience with the INFINITI QX60 was great, and I highly recommend taking a look at the QX60 or other INFINITI models when exploring options for a new car. While the PURE trim is only starting at an MSRP of $49,200, the INFINITI QX60 is affordable while offering countless features. INFINITI did a great job of including features that will please everyone in the market for an SUV. In my personal opinion, the QX60 is one of the most overlooked SUVs.
