Midsize three-row luxury SUVs are ideal for families who need plenty of interior space while enjoying a refined interior and powerful performance. The 2025 INFINITI QX60 and the 2025 Volvo XC90 fit this description. However, while they share some similarities, they also have their differences. To help you understand the key differences, our team at INFINITI of Hoffman Estates created this comparison of the INFINITI QX60 vs. the Volvo XC90.

Trims and Exterior

While the QX60 and XC90 are both stylish SUVs, the INFINITI QX60 has a more contemporary appearance, appealing to those looking for a modern-looking SUV.

INFINITI QX60

The 2025 QX60’s clean, sleek lines give it an elegant appearance. The sloped roof and raked back end help add a sporty touch to this SUV. INFINITI offers the QX60 in four trims: the PURE, LUXE, SENSORY, and AUTOGRAPH.

Volvo XC90

The XC90 has a more traditional appearance, with the classic long Volvo nose and boxy stance. The 2025 Volvo XC90 is available in three trims: the Core, Plus, and Ultra.

Interior Features

INFINITI continues to upgrade and redesign the QX60, while the Volvo XC90 carries the same design from several years ago. The Volvo XC90 still has a functional design with comfortable seats, but the INFINITI QX60 excels in modern interior space and design.

INFINITI QX60

Even the entry-level PURE has appealing features any luxury-oriented SUV enthusiasts will appreciate, including heated, leather front seats, a tri-zone automatic control system, and a power liftgate. With every trim level, you get more luxury features, such as massaging front seats with a power four-way driver’s seat and front seat memory settings.

All trims seat up to seven people with the second-row bench seat or six people with second-row captain’s chairs. The QX60 has plenty of room for cargo and supplies with its flexible seating configurations, including a 60/40-split folding seat. With all three rows upright, this SUV has 14.5 cubic feet of cargo space, and with the second and third-row seats folded down, you can get up to 75.4 cubic feet of cargo space.

Volvo XC90

While the XC90 also seats up to seven people, there’s less shoulder room than in the INFINITI QX60. The QX60 has 60.6 inches of shoulder room, while the Volvo only has 57.7 inches. Many of the luxurious standard features found on the INFINITI are only optional for the Volvo, including a heated steering wheel and seats. In addition, the QX60 has more cargo space, with 14.5 cubic space behind the third row, while the XC90 only has 12.6 cubic feet of storage space.

Safety and Tech

INFINITI and Volvo provide their vehicles with state-of-the-art technology and advanced safety features.

INFINITI QX60

Depending on the XC90 trim, you get a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system or the 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins high-fidelity audio system. The infotainment system has a 9-inch touch screen with Google built-in technology and Apple CarPlay. Android Auto integration isn’t included.

Key driver-assistance features include:

Performance

While luxurious on the inside, the QX60 and XC90 have rugged power and performance under the hood.

INFINITI QX60

All 2025 QX60 trims house a 2.0-liter variable compression four-cylinder engine with an output of 268 hp and 286 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission provides smooth shifting, and the standard intelligent all-wheel-drive system gives this INFINITI SUV added traction. The INFINITI QX60 has a 0-to-60 mph sprint time of under 7 seconds, impressive for a three-row midsize SUV. If you want to tow a small boat or trailer, the QX60 can haul up to 6,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Volvo XC90

The XC90 is a mild hybrid with an electric motor and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine that produces up to 247 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission pairs with the mild hybrid system, and all-wheel drive comes standard across the lineup. While the INFINITI QX60 can tow up to 6,000 pounds, the Volvo XC90 can only tow up to 5,000 pounds.
